Blogging For Beginners: How do I grow my subscribers list with a WordPress Blog?

 by Kary Rogney

Today I’m going to reveal one simple fact… You must, must, must have a subscription/optin box. This is absolutely crucial and necessary! Without it you have no way to grow your ‘list’ of people to market to and to invite them to return to your blog when you have new blog posts to share.

And TRULY the only way you’re going to grow this list by the dozens each day is by presenting a unique offer or give-away on the side bar area of your blog. It needs to be something of value and also match what you’re passionate or knowledgeable about.

Think about this… if you build your subscribers to 500 or 1,000 or more… you have the opportunity to syndicate or promote your new blog posts, videos, articles, or products or services to them anytime you want.

That’s powerful stuff, people! And if they find it all valuable they will tell others. It’s just the way it works!

PS Without a place to grow your subscriber list, you’re leaving a ton of money on the table with what you can do with online marketing.

Kary – I really like that you are approaching this from a beginner blogger’s point of view. These things might seem elementary to a lot of people who have been at this for a while – but the concept is still very important and it doesn’t hurt to remind us of the basics!

The optin offer is so critical that I’ve found it’s a really good idea to put it to the test on a fairly regular basis.

Most people will give their optin offer a title like “5-Part Video Series Will Show You How To Capture Leads From YouTube”. You might like that title (or not), but either way, it’s imperative that you try altering it.

Try something like “Incredible Video Tutorial Series To Build Your Prospect List Through Social Media.”

    Which one is better?

You MUST test, not guess. Numbers don’t lie. Try one for a month. Try another for a month. Go with the one that pulled best. After a few months, put run another test.

You’re right, Kary, the Optin is critical, and this post really shows you why. And something so important really should be worked over and over on an ongoing basis to make sure it’s pulling as well as possible.

      Hey David,

I’ve worked diligently on this part of my marketing from
the beginning… even before I had a blog, and it has
absolutely paid massive dividends. My latest series is
my pride and joy because I know it will help people
get the answers that so many people are looking for…
      everything ‘essential’ about blogging.

      Your friend,
      Kary

      Hi Autumn,
I’m not sure that there is a FREE plugin
out there, but my partners and I have
put together a new Theme that allows
people to customize their own optin
box without using a graphic designer
      or knowing coding.
      Check it out. http://empoweredblogs.com
      Have a great day!
