Blogging For Beginners: How do I grow my subscribers list with a WordPress Blog?

Today I’m going to reveal one simple fact… You must, must, must have a subscription/optin box. This is absolutely crucial and necessary! Without it you have no way to grow your ‘list’ of people to market to and to invite them to return to your blog when you have new blog posts to share.

And TRULY the only way you’re going to grow this list by the dozens each day is by presenting a unique offer or give-away on the side bar area of your blog. It needs to be something of value and also match what you’re passionate or knowledgeable about.

Think about this… if you build your subscribers to 500 or 1,000 or more… you have the opportunity to syndicate or promote your new blog posts, videos, articles, or products or services to them anytime you want.

That’s powerful stuff, people! And if they find it all valuable they will tell others. It’s just the way it works!

36 Paths To Creating Powerful Joint Ventures Through Social Media

The house was all dark and quiet and everyone was fast asleep. I was nowAMPED and WIDE awake because of the conversation I had just had.

I have to be honest with you… I keep getting ‘slapped’ upside the head with HUGE “Ah-ha!” moments, and feel that it is finally time I share with you and completely EXPOSE an online ‘wealth creator’ that not many people in social media talk about or even know exists…

And that is the JOINT VENTURE…

Now I know, I know. It doesn’t sound glamorous or exotic. And for most people those words sound too full of ‘business’ and ‘work’ and no fun. But the joint venture is far from that, and I’m going to share with you why!

About a year ago, when I first came online I was very blessed by some specialized knowledge and happened to tap into some GREAT MENTORING (Jonathan Bud) that led me to focusing on creating relationships and exposure in social media. Again, if it all sounds too simple, let me ask you this…

Of the people you are connected with on Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, or your blog, how many of them have you actually talked to on the phone or Skype? And how many have called you, not to pitch or sell you on anything, but to join you in business, as a partner, or want your mentoring?

There is a reason that most people aren’t seeing any success online, because they are doing social media marketing ALL WRONG!! And I know most people actually KNOW this information, but don’t APPLY this knowledge effectively or persistently…

Boiled down… you want to Educate, Enlighten, Entertain, Encourage, and Inspire people with your messages and videos. (Katie Freiling is a perfect example of this.) If you are doing this, you will ‘attract’ and ‘draw’ people to YOU like bees to honey! If you don’t make these changes, you won’t have a chance to succeed in the social media arena. That’s just the plain TRUTH…

The reason I’m sharing this with you today is because a Joint Venture will never have a chance of surfacing if you don’t bring ‘value’ to the world you are engaging!

So let’s get into some examples and details of what can be done to encourage people to KNOW, LIKE, AND TRUST you and ultimately want to learn from, join, or partner with you in business.

  1. Relationship Building: Remember it’s about keeping the focus on others, asking questions, and listening for their Strengths, Interests, Goals, and Needs (SIGN). I like to visualize a spot light on them, keeping it off of me. People love to talk about themselves, and you will be thought of fondly by them as a great conversationalist.
  2. Earning Trust: The fastest way to lose this is to be ‘pitching’ your gig to them right out of the gate. Approach people in a support role. Give, give, give…
  3. Building Value: Ninety percent of your messages and content need to be of value to your audience. Ten percent or less should be based around promoting some sort of product or service you market. Be careful in the way you do this though… Create the promotion around a question or open ended thought.
  4. Be A Good Communicator: Be clear and concise. Focus on what your audience would be interested in. Look directly into the camera lens if using video. They are asking themselves, “What’s in it for me?” as they engage you, too.
  5. Use Social Media Strategies: Leverage the power of the social media sites. That is take advantage of the massive amount of traffic there. Get training from those with proven results in this arena.
  6. Use Tools And Systems: Putting these together will maximize your results online. Make sure you have the ability to capture leads, follow up with them, and create more exposure for yourself. There are many such tools and systems to choose from…
  7. Create A Blog: By far the most powerful strategy to have today in marketing is a personal WordPress blog. This is your ‘home’, the place where you can invite your new friend to learn everything about you. This is where you are able to build your personal brand and share your knowledge and personality with the world.
  8. Create Social Proof: People want to see who you are connected with. They ask themselves, “Are people interested in your content?” People won’t spend much time on a site that looks like a ghost town. That’s why your relationships are SO important!
  9. Promote Others: Get out there and ReTweet great content on blogs, comment on them, promote and tag people on Facebook, create a Facebook Fan Page that helps support others and their ability to self promote, ‘buzz’ other people’s content on Twitter with a genuine “shout out” about something of value that someone you want to know has created, etc…
  10. Be Transparent And Authentic: Don’t just talk marketing and MLM… that isn’t who you REALLY are! Connect everything to a personal experience or story that people can relate to.
  11. Show Your Personal Side: Tell stories about struggles, victories, family life, hobbies, interests, dreams, goals, passions… just typing these words gets me excited!
  12. Use Video: This is the one medium that lets people see into your soul, connecting with the real person you are. Text and emails can’t come close to making a genuine first impression like video can. Send personal video messages on Facebook. I can’t tell you how many people have flipped out and told me how awesome it was to receive a video message from me. And that I was the first person to ever do that. And that they were going to start doing the same…
  13. Offer A Mentoring Program: Believe it or not. You are most likely ready to do this now… Let me explain. Would you say that you probably know more than most people about marketing online? Because you’re here right now, I’m assuming you’re swimming in the same waters with people that have taught you a lot about this topic. Now you can take that to the next level. Create your blog and offer mentoring. Put a PayPal button on there and away you go. Here’s a post that shares how to do that and how to brainstorm a niche for mentoring.
  14. Promote Your “Tribe”: Find people who offer high-value content and promote them on the social media sites and on their blog. An amazing thing will happen. They will reciprocate and you will reap HUGE REWARDS for this philosophy.
  15. Engage People Everywhere: Show appreciation, comment on interesting ideas, ask questions, relate what you read to your own stories and get people to think and respond back to you… This is what creates the magnetic effect with people who GET THIS!! Start doing this immediately!
  16. Refer People To Others (Be A ‘Connector’): Maybe it’s not a match for you to work with someone you know, but you just met someone else who would be… Connect them up. You’ll be amazed at what will come back to you when you GIVE UNCONDITIONALLY!

  • The Law Of Value: Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.
  • The Law Of Compensation: Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.

So now that you have 100′s or 1,000′s of more meaningful, ‘connected’ relationships, you now have an incredible asset to work with. Obviously growing your list of subscribers fits in here as well… because you can continue to communicate to them at will ’til the end of time. And they will be VERY responsive if you follow the lessons outlined above!

The whole time you were developing those relationships it was like putting money into the bank. When it comes time to request a withdrawal, you’ll have EARNED that opportunity.

But you haven’t even seen the FUN part! The part where you can create a significant income while having fun with these new friends…

Here is a significant list of the many creative and lucrative ventures you can develop:

  1. Host Webinars (Free or Paid): This will still lead people to your information, products, or services.
  2. Create Info Products: DVD’s, CD’s, eBooks, Membership Site. Too many people don’t think they have enough value to bring to the table. But THAT IS A FREAKING LIE YOU NEED TO QUIT TELLING YOURSELF!
  3. Form A Tribe Or Content Syndication Partnership:
  4. Create A Team Around A Network Marketing Product: Delegate marketing duties based on strengths; PPC, video, blogging, contacts, list building, social media, etc…
  5. Cross Promote Each Others Products/Services:
  6. Create Your Own Affiliate Programs For Information, Products, Or Services: Enlist your friends to help you with content, exposure, and marketing. Share the profits.
  7. Become Affiliates To Each Others Stuff:
  8. Create A Blog Together: Share or rotate the leads, rotate submitting content, build an SEO strategy together…
  9. Create A Marketing Co-Op: Generate and share leads with Pay-Per-Click (PPC), share costs of programs like GoToWebinar or things that have a monthly cost.
  10. Create An Exclusive Ning.com Community: Post exclusive information, videos, and discussions…
  11. Form A Support Network: The goal is to help each other succeed. Through this many great ideas for partnerships surface.
  12. Start A ‘Power Hour’: Carve out one hour per week where you meet on Skype and jump from blog to blog, commenting, retweeting, and submitting posts to social bookmarking sites…
  13. Be A Guest Writer On Someone Else’s Blog: Approach a highly trafficked blog owner, and ask them if it would be possible to submit a guest blog post. This would be considered your most incredible content. Yes, your best! Give it away! So you can get exposure with your best ideas out there…
  14. Invite Other Top Bloggers To Submit A Guest Blog Post To Your Site: Go for it! You never know, after you’ve put some time into developing the relationship, they may just say yes! Wahoo!
  15. Interview Others: Find experts in niche markets that may be of interest to your friends and followers of your blog. You can also create a CD offer or bonus offer with that content.
  16. Offer To Be Interviewed: Many bloggers will jump at the chance to host an interview with you if you offer great value in your content.

I know for a fact that the people I’ve been mentored by or the people I personally mentor get a MILLION TIMES more accomplished because of the accountability and personal attention received. Duh… that’s why the world’s best athletes and musicians all have personal coaches, trainers, or teachers!

Micro-Marketing Funnel In 4 Steps: Tools, Social Media, Promote Others, And Relationship Marketing

Social Media Marketing Impersonal?

chuck_norris_needThe other day I got to thinking about how ‘Impersonal’ social media sites, MLM company generated web sites, and most Internet pages are.

Now let me quickly clarify that these sites do allow for people to share information about their interests or about them and connect with people… but very few people utilize video in an affective way to begin the relationship-building process.

To do so on most sites you’d have to have someone click on your video post or link to get them to watch it, too.

So I started looking for a way to position myself (via video) in front of every person who accepts my invitation to visit my web sites; both social media focused or not.

To my surprise and joy, I found just that!

A System…

  • Where I could put my own video welcome and introduction on a pre-landing page to my site. This has allowed a way for my ‘new friends’ to see me, hear me, and get to know me better than they ever could have by just reading my profile or reading my copy.
  • Where I can give directions of where to go and what to do as they enter my site. This allows for me to request that they look at certain information, direct them, and make their visit more productive.
  • Where I can give them a call to action for subscribing to my newsletter, video series, or eZine. This is a tremendous benefit for them and me. They won’t miss an opportunity to subscribe to my valuable info, and I have the opportunity to obtain another subscriber.

And many MLM or Direct Sales companies don’t allow for the associates to present themselves in video OR get notified about people who want to request more information or followup from the person hosting the site.

Top 15 Ways to Build Your Subscriber List

email_marketingEmail marketing can be profitable for any business, no matter what kind of product or service you are selling. It is significantly cheaper than other advertising methods and it helps build credibility with your subscribers. As a result, you can generate more sales and profits.

The foundation for successful email marketing is a targeted, responsive and permission-based email list. If you have a list of subscribers that trust you and consider you an expert, you’ve completed the first step and are on your way!

Below you will find several list-building ideas that will help you make the most of your email marketing efforts:

  1. Provide useful, relevant and unique content. Your visitors will not give you their email addresses just because they can subscribe to your newsletter free of charge. You have to provide unique and valuable information that will be useful to your subscribers.
  2. Add a subscription form to every page of your website. Make sure it stands out so it is easy to find. If appropriate, you can also include it in more than one place. For instance, your opt-in form might always appear in the top-right corner of your site, while you also include an opt-in at the bottom of some of your popular articles.
  3. Make it easy for your reader to sign up. The more information you request, the fewer people will opt-in. In most cases, a name and an email address should suffice. If it’s not necessary, don’t include it here. (Note: If you don’t have a Privacy Policy, put the words “privacy policy generator” into a search engine and you should be able to find a suitable form for your readers to review.
  4. Publish a Privacy Policy. Let your readers know that they can be confident you will not share their information with others. The easiest way to do this is to set up a Privacy Policy web page and provide the link to it below your opt-in form.
  5. Show your first issue or other sample to your visitors. This lets potential subscribers review your newsletter before they sign up to determine if it is something they’d be interested in.
  6. Archive past newsletter issues. A “library” of past newsletters is both appealing and useful to visitors and builds your credibility as an authority. In addition, if your articles are written with good SEO techniques in mind, they can send additional traffic to your web site through good search engine positioning.
  7. Contact other newsletter publishers. Introduce yourself and explore ways you may be able to help each other. Perhaps you can introduce other publisher’s newsletters or print articles they have written to your list, with a link to sign up. When you contact them, be sure to tell them why you think THEIR readers would like what you have to offer and why YOUR readers would benefit from their newsletters. This is a win-win scenario; both of you will build your lists faster!
  8. Give away bonuses subscribers can use. Create an opt-in bonus for joining your subscriber list. You can write an ebook or PDF report, or even hire a programmer to create downloadable or web-based software. But don’t limit yourself to only a gift for new opt-ins. Remind your readers that the next bonus is coming soon. People hate to miss out on things. If you systematically pass on “goodies” throughout the year, your subscribers are unlikely to leave.
  9. Ask your subscribers to pass it on. Word of mouth is a powerful viral technique that works great with email marketing. If your subscribers find the content you share with them to be informative, they will pass your newsletter on to their friends. This can be a good source of new subscribers.
  10. Let others reprint your newsletter as long as the content is not modified. Many webmasters and newsletter publishers are actively looking for high-quality content and, if they reprint your newsletter, you will get new subscribers, traffic and links pointing to your site.
  11. Include a “Sign Up” button in the newsletter. If you are using plain text instead of HTML, provide a text link to your subscription page. You may feel that this is not required because the subscriber is already on your list, but remember that readers will forward your newsletters to others, or reprint it online. You want to make it easy for them to subscribe.
  12. Add a squeeze page. A squeeze page has one goal − to get an opt-in and build your list. Think of it like a mini-sales letter for your subscription or opt-in bonus. It features a powerful headline and a couple of very important benefits that should make subscribers salivate to sign up to your list. Once created, use a service such as WordTracker to find hundreds of targeted keywords, and advertise there using pay-per-click advertising from Google, MSN and Yahoo.
  13. Include testimonials on your squeeze page. This is crucial. Put 1 or 2 strong testimonials from satisfied subscribers on your squeeze page. This can be in any format, but you may find that multimedia (audio or video social proof) is more “believable”. To increase that believability, include full names, locations and/or urls; don’t use “Bob K, FL” as a testimonial name.
  14. Blog religiously. Blogging is a great way to communicate with your potential customers, and it creates a nice synergy with your email marketing. Be sure to include your newsletter sign-up form on each page of your blog. You can start a free blog at Blogger or WordPress.
  15. Post on other blogs. Post great comments and information on similar blogs with a link to your squeeze or opt-in page. Also comment on others’ blogs through trackbacks. In most cases, your comments will be posted on their blogs with a link back to your site. This is an easy way to generate new traffic and subscribers.

Part 1: The 10 Vital Components for the Most Powerful Network Marketing Funnel on the Planet

CB008257Today we’re going to talk about something VERY important.  It’s something that can make or BREAK true success in your network marketing business.  And it has to do with a variety of factors. (Many of these notes are taken from a training put on by Jonathan Budd.)

First things first…you have to know yourself!  You have to know what mediums WORK WITH YOU to build a network marketing business.  You have to take into consideration the different pros and cons of the methods to build your business…and then pick the mediums that are most optimized for YOU to create success.

What I mean is this…

If you’re a SMOOTH talker, great at influence and persuasion, networking, and prospecting out of your warm market…then traditional network marketing tactics can work wonders.

If you know how to generate endless referrals from within your warm market, and you have no problem prospecting people who didn’t ask for what you have to offer, then you should be able to build a solid business using those traditional tactics.

But if you DON’T know how to generate endless leads from your warm market, and you don’t know how to prospect people who never asked for what you have to offer, then you NEED to learn the real science of marketing.

It’s just that simple.

So to take action steps closer to where you REALLY want to be you first have to figure out what MEDIUMS are most suited to your personality and how you want to build your business.

Once you have made a firm DECISION.  Either old school or new school or BOTH…you now start taking actions steps to get the exact INFORMATION you need to execute on building your business.

In-For-Mation.  It literally means “to put into form”, which is why it’s so important.  If you don’t know how to market, and you don’t know how to generate leads then you need to learn HOW before you can actually start doing it.

And once you have the right information…you can start performing the daily actions that actually lead to results.  You can sit down and focus so that your actions lead to PRODUCTIVITY and nothing else.

Make no mistake friend, if you’re NOT performing the actions that lead to what makes money in this business…you’re going to be treading water just trying to stay afloat.

But if you KNOW specific money making actions that you can sit down and systematically crank out day after day…it’s IMPOSSIBLE for you not to start creating results and success.

That’s why I LOVE Internet marketing.  That’s why I LOVE using technology to build my business.  Because I have these physical, in my hands techniques, that I can use on a daily basis to produce
real results for my business.

I’ve mastered the ability to drive an ENDLESS amount of traffic to any website I want, and turn that traffic into leads, distributors, and cash flow for my business.

And I have to tell ya, if you dedicate yourself to using technology to build your business there are more possibilities for rapid explosion than you can imagine.

Before we move on…KNOW yourself.  Figure out how YOU want to build your business.  Then take the actions steps you need to take on a daily basis to make it happen.

Now let’s move forward to learn the precise strategies I use on a daily basis that automatically generate me endless leads, distributors, and cash flow for my business.

What does it really mean to generate or attract an ENDLESS amount of leads or new prospects daily for your business? I see people plaster their “expertise” or “system” on this everywhere on the web? Is it true? Is it real or is it some weird scam?

The biggest challenge I see for marketers today, is how to find ENOUGH of the right, targeted audience to expose their opportunity, products, and services to. Unfortunately, people are still using archaic ways to “get the word out” about their businesses.

Leadership in today’s companies are still telling distributors and reps to make lists of hundreds of friends and family members who haven’t asked for information or shown an interest in it. And yes, a very small percentage does appreciate the information and does choose to join in the business partnership.

But many times this exciting time for a new associate is met with opposition, skepticism, and a lack of support, because these people are not the “right” people to talk to. Unfortunately again, many friends and family have no interest in changing their situation or thinking, and they don’t necessarily understand or support network marketing.

We are also told to go do trade shows and to have tables at fairs, festivals, and public events. Have you ever had any success with these? I sure never did! And I’ve done many! Even if I got names and numbers from drawings or raffle entries, they never converted into sales.

I waisted my time and my money and felt beaten and defeated afterwards. They really took the wind out of my sail (or shoule I say sale) and it was always hard to keep the energy up and to continue moving forward.

Oh, don’t forget about putting in those classified ads! Those ads had to be worded somewhat mysterious or vague to get people to call you, only to get hang-ups and people wanting to find a J.O.B. (Just Over Broke), with no ambition to build something remarkable for themselves financially. And of course, there went more of my cash!

Did you ever get a wild hair and start cold calling people out of the phone book… like businesses? Business owners love when you do that don’t they? Of course not! They’re busy, they don’t know you from Adam, and it doesn’t work to do this either! What’s frustrating is that your product of service most likely would be an outstanding match for their business, if only you had the right, “magical” script to get them to see the big picture you had for them.

The list of these strategies and tactics could go on and on. They just don’t work for the effort and resourses one has to put forth to have even a slight chance of getting ahead.

I’m going to share the solution with you today. We are in a new era and time of technological breakthroughs in Web 2.0 Internet marketing. Now initially it may sound strange to be able to develop deep, meaningful relationships, but I beg to differ.

In a very short time, people can make hundreds, even thousands of new friends and come to know hundreds of people who have the same interests and entrepreneurial drive to succeed in business. Most are positive and supportive and a huge resource for cutting edge information to guide you to improve as a marketer and as a person.

As you develop these relationships, by adding value to their lives and business experiences, something profound and dynamic happens…

People become attracted to you for your leadership, knowledge, and mentor abilities. People begin calling you, wanting to now more about you… This typically doesn’t happen in the scenarios we mentioned above!

This new interest is NOT because you “sold” them on a product or service or used “slick” sales tactics to trick or corner them into investing their hard-earned money into a business that they really weren’t a match for. It’s because you were more interested in developing a relationship first… not make a quick buck!

Because of the incredible numbers of people on the Internet, the marketers who figure this out are going to stand out among a sea of people all self-promoting and screaming, “I’m the best! Join me!!” This SPAMing mentality is short-sighted and will turn and “bite” if provoked!

The art of generating these F*REE leads is being open to being trained on the strategies of this new platform and how to expose YOUR new learned leadership and marketing skills to the masses.

And if you’ve never experienced or even dreamed it possible… well, let me tell you, my friend, it is REAL and is possible for you! Invest in your skill and knowledge and you’ll be shocked at what you can accomplish.

The second piece of this puzzle is, “What do you do when people start flocking to you in LARGE numbers for more information?”

For example, my partner, Jonathan, generates between 110-330 brand new op-in leads per day! He can’t possibly call them all. (I know, what a problem to have!) And the last place he’d want to send them would be to a company replicated web site. So what next?
